A Nude Lipstick Can Actually Improve Your Sex Appeal

A Nude Lipstick Can Actually Improve Your Sex Appeal

Ok let me preface this by saying I’m halfway through a glass of crisp Pinot Grigio at Soho House on a hot afternoon, with the weekend knocking on my door. Obviously I wanna talk about lipstick, the nude kind. Isn’t it so ironic that in a world where red lipstick is quite possibly the most iconic mark of a women’s sex appeal (heck, there’s a red lips emoji!), in reality, it’s not really that sexy?

My boyfriend, for one, absolutely hates when I wear red lipstick; he keeps a 5-meter radius away from me when I wear red lipstick. But when I slather on that concealer dead-person vibes on my lips? I suddenly become irresistible.

I think red lipstick is sexy in a fantastical kind of way. Red lips make you look sexy, but no one will actually sleep with you. No, true sex appeal lies in natural beauty. OK, I’m generalizing here. I’m sure there are some people who love a set of ruby red lips all over their white duvet cover. I’m just not one of them.

Nude lipstick also does wonders for ladies with thinner lips (hell0!). Often when I do my makeup, I’ll cheat my entire lip line with concealer so my lips appear larger than they are. Put a couple coats of M.A.C. Satin Lipstick in Fleshpot and boom – I’m givin’ Angelina Jolie a run for her money.

I don’t know, maybe it’s just me, but I cannot get enough of nude lipstick. Every time I slather on my Tom Ford Blush Nude (at seventy dollars a pop, it’s reserved only for those very special occasions), I feel gloriously hot. And isn’t that a good thing? Don’t we want to feel gloriously hot? Is that wrong to admit…. I don’t know.

So let me ask you – do you love nude lipstick as much as I do? Leave me a comment!

Well, when it comes to red lipstick vs. nude lipstick, I’m definitely on team nude. But I’m biased by my preference for a more a subtle statement :)

Being really dark makes it hard to find a true nude…but I did with a $2.99 Milani (get out of town, right?!) It also layers really well with other colors if I want a bit of gold or pink to come through.

Nice! Finding the perfect nude is hard but once you do, you become completely devoted to it. (Until they discontinue your colour…. typical!)

Thanks for stopping by! Always nice to hear from you!

Not gonna lie, I am the red lipsticks girl hahaah But it’s true that guys do not necessarily share the same passion towards red lips as I do. And nude lips?! I love them, but I have to pull a strong eye makeup to not look like a zombie. And I’m lazy most of the time to pull a strong eye makeup,,, so,,, usually I’ll go for the nudy pink on a day-to0day basis!

Hey Margaret! Thanks so much for stopping by and I loved your comment. It’s so true, nude lips and red lips require different eye makeup compliments. I def like to do a stronger eye with a nude lip – like a smokey eye. I love that look and happens to be my boyfriend’s favourite look on me, too. Red lips are so crazy. Did you see Naomi Campbell’s sparkly red lips at the VMAs last night? I LOVED THEM. And those would prob be my bf’s nightmare hahahahaha.

Nude all the way–although with my skin tone, I need more of a putty pink to avoid looking dead…BUT I did buy a super dark purply-red for fall on the weekend (MAC Sin), and as I was pulling the trigger I thought, “I’ll never wear this.” We’ll see how it goes. Husband is definitely on the nude team, though.

Boys – they are all the same! It’s fun to do a dark lip for Fall but I’m totally with you on the Cost Per Wear. I maybe wear my darker shades like 1-2 per season. I’ve never ever finished a red, plum, or purple lipstick tube in my life. But nude lipstick? Oh man, I am currently mourning the end of my 2nd Tom Ford Blonde nude lipstick tube, saving the little triangle that’s left for a special occasion. Pathetic.

I love this! Personally, I think it is all about occasion! I do love myself a solid nude lip, but sometimes the LBD needs the pop of color!!!
