Ever since Anu Raina did a scarf with the Toronto subway system on it, we became friends. Well, we don’t really know each other in person, but we know each other. Ya know?
Sharing a love for Toronto is easy when the city’s iconography finds its way onto a piece of clothing and in the case of Anu Raina’s Fall ’14 collection, on shirts, skirts and dresses, too. Her textile mastery shone through the clothing, in addition to Toronto’s cityscapes, psychedelic prints and birds on a wire permeated the collection’s visual tropes.
And with Olivia Chow sitting front row clad in her own Anu Raina Toronto scarf, it was a proud moment for the Canadian fashion industry.
And no, Rob Ford was not on the guest list.
