My Style | Those Givenchy Boots

My Style | Those Givenchy Boots

I suppose my blog can marginally be a response to everything Leandra Medine does because whenever I get an idea in my head, chances are, she (or one of her office vassals) has already written about it. And well, too.

In the off chance that fifty percent of you don’t even read The Man Repeller, nay should you start, I will continue to unwittingly appropriate her content here. Could it be that we are just two smart cookies in different cookie jars?

Back to the boots. Ever since Tisci proffered knackle boots with a silver shark’s tooth closure back in Pre-Fall 2012, I’ve wanted them so as to cover my own knackles. Well, I do have some calf action going on, what I really want to hide are my cankles, and so these boots are really dual-purpose for me. But like Leandra, I didn’t want to spend my money on them – not even when they went on sale on SSENSE; yes, I see you, Medine.

Luckily, in Canada, we don’t even get Givenchy in our department stores. Instead, we get the imitations – in real leather with impeccable construction – and most of us still won’t ever buy them. Enter, Enzo Angiolini and the astute buyer at The Bay who probably lost her job in making sure the lookalike Givenchy knackle boot would be mine at 30% off, less 60%, of four hundred dollars. Translation? I got them last week for one hundred and twelve dollars to be exact.

Checkmate.
