How Not to Write a Blog Post

Call it writer’s block; call it 2700 unread emails in my inbox; call it a lack of things to talk about when Justin Trudeau’s two minute honeymoon is all I wanna talk about. It’s hard to come up with riveting stories about the junk in my trunk, the spinach in my teeth makeshift grill and how to fake a flat lay in the Bahamas every single day, you know. Inspiration was lacking today so I decided to turn to my trusty “Notepad” wherein I keep a list of potential topics I’d like to address here on the blog whenever they come to mind.

Here’s some of the things on my list currently. NB: I have no idea which were added when I was – if I ever was – sober.

  • Neck zits. The new acne.
  • Guys who look like they use drugs and have a face that creeps me out. Brady Bunch. (???? – I think I’m referring to Peter, the middle son who I had a crush on but in a way that made me feel wrong about it when I was young).
  • Full bum underwear and what it means to me.
  • My vagina is ugly. (I’m not joking, that is a legit entry lol).
  • The distinct flavours of steak and wine chewed together.
  • What came first, the blogger or the egg?

Now, feel free to steal any of those scoop-able ideas and make them your own. And I also realize by revealing my prized list I now have absolutely no tricks up my sleeve and must rely on the world around me once again to get my wheels going. But, like purging my closet, purging my writer’s block backup list feels good. I have nothing to write about – not even the fact that I fell prey to the cashmere layered over lace bralette trend that everyone is pulling these days and I liked it.

What can I say, sometimes an outfit post is just an outfit post.

Don’t they say when you have nothing left to write about and you start to write self-reflexively about having nothing to write about, tryna be all meta and shit, your career is over? Well, since I still don’t have my column, my career as a famous writer has yet to begin and therefore I am only calling this a moratorium on vagina jokes as viable blog post material. They’ll be back, just not today.

Happy weekend guys, see you on the flip side!

Lovedddddd this. My blog ideas entry in the iPhone Notes app is actually just as obnoxious haha. I’m pretty sure it’ll never make it to my blog. But the “Full bum underwear and what it means to you” – write that at some point haha. Thanks for an entertaining post, yet again. Happy weekend!

OMG that’s where mine are too! On Notes app! hahaha. Yes, exactly, obnoxious. That’s what they are! Would love to compare notes :) Ok, yeah, that’s the one that is the least offensive, and full bum underwear holds a soft spot in my heart. Happy Weekend to you as well, and thank you so much for reading. I was having a bad day but when I read your comment, I turned my frown upside down! :)

    – it happens, to the best of us :(
    – sometimes it’s genetic, or wear and tear, and sometimes, it is substance abuse.
    – full bum undies, as long as they look good!
    – that’s a matter of perspective.
    – I imagine that it’d be good!
    – the egg.
