Cumulative dressing is the pits. It’s like this: I get an outfit in my head that rivals Anna dello Russo and then I check the weather forecast – cloudy with a chance of not-so-Milanese weather. Of course, I remedy this with more layers; each one decreasing the odds of chicness as I fling my arms through. Who knew a cardigan could be so lethal?
I kid. Winter dressing can be visually striking. (In an editorial, shot in a heated studio in May).
The rest of the time, it’s daydreams and Bookings.yeah commercials. I can see my Sorels glaring at me from the corner of my eye. They’re joshing my Chinese New Year outfit. Well, this collage is my rebuttal.
I just heard about the launch of TOMS x Jonathan Adler Spring 2014 shoe and eyewear collection and quickly envisioned my vacation essentials. The collection will be available in Canada starting Tuesday, February 25 – just in time for a jaunt somewhere hot with the word ‘resort’ in it. They’d be perfect to wear on the plane with jeans or handsomely pantless on the beach.
But for the love of ingrowns, please use a body scrub before bearing those winterized gams at the playa. I recommend Lovefresh‘s pomegranate body scrub because I use it three times a week and it’s got the tiniest granules – in fact, it looks more like cupcake icing than an exfoliant.
