I’m gonna level with you. I am not a “statement necklace” blogger, although many bloggers have forged a winning style suspending hunks of beads, rocks and ding-ding-a-lings around their necks, and others have carried that extra ten pounds in vain. A surefire way to fail at the statement necklace is to pair it with a knee-length flared skirt and some type of horizontal striped t-shirt. Ladies, you’ve be warned.
The jewellery I wear is usually whatever I wake up with (and subsequently, whatever I’ve gone to bed with). For the past year it’s been diamond stud earrings and a silver evil eye bracelet from Greece, which left me only three weeks ago, mysteriously. They say the evil eye will break once it’s absorbed all the bad vibes around you. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it.
I used to wear a watch but the battery died in October, and well, you know how that goes.
And so, I’ve recently added a new addition to my bedtime accessories in lieu of those fallen soldiers: an arrow pendant in 10k white gold with Swarovski crystals (I personalized it myself). It’s small enough to wear everyday (including hot yoga and hot sex) without feeling like Ludacris is hanging from my necklace. And with Mother’s Day around the corner, Jewlr has a selection of personalized necklaces, earrings, rings and charms that are winners with moms – thank me later when mama bear is oohing and aahing at her new evil eye ring. Come to think of it, I should really get myself another hamsa, just in case.
