NARS 2016 Spring Collection

NARS 2016 Spring Collection

I love love LOVE the latest Spring 2016 collection from NARS. As you know, I’m a ride or die Narsissist since I had my prom makeup done at the NARS counter at Holt Renfrew and had my first orgasm – blush, that is. (Don’t test me, I’m in a cheeky mood this morning). I’ve been loyal to the brand ever since and when I started blogging, it was the only beauty brand on my list that I was determined to work with (or to get an email from). Fast forward six years, every time I get the little black NARS bag from their Canadian PR team, I’m reminded of that young girl in grade 12, finally getting the opportunity to try that makeup brand in that matte black packaging.

This season it was like the colour palette was made for me. I recently did my “Colour Me Beautiful” season test (don’t worry, there’s a blog post coming about that) and it turns out my season is Soft Summer. Translation? I shouldn’t be wearing black (da fuk?!) and that rose shades look really really good on me (which, is true). Anyway, the NARS Spring 2016 collection is all rose, pink, soft golds and tan, with midnight blue and icy mint punches. It’s perfect.

Another product launching February 1st is the Velvet Matte Skin Tint. Hollahhhh! Did you know that I don’t wear foundation on a day-to-day basis? I use NARS tinted moisturizer in St. Moritz (I have extras lined up in my makeup drawer and leave a tube at my boyfriend’s parents house in Vancouver, just in case). It’s my jam, needless to say. Anyway, that it now comes as a velvet matte skin tint is music to my ears. I have to use a finishing powder when I wear the tinted moisturizer (especially when blending powder bronzers, blushes and highlighters on top) because it is very hydrating and can look oily after a few hours, but the velvet matte skin tint already has a matte finish built-in with transparent blurring powders that blur imperfections while giving a velvet touch. Sooo much easier.

I cannot wait to play around and show you guys some of the cool makeup looks I’ve come up with using the Spring colour palette. For now, mark your calendars as this collection will be available in stores and at www.narscosmetics.com on February 1st!

Honestly, one of my favourite collections from them. You know sometimes they do a bit more crazy shades that you wear like once. These are everyday colours I know I’m going to just burn through lol.

Thanks for stopping by, Vicky! xoxo J

Ah! Will try to have some up. Don’t usually do that, but I’ll try my best! Thanks for the suggestion. xoxo J

I don’t wear/own a lot of makeup, but I do love my Nars lips products. And my orgasm blush. Plus I appreciate the company for making makeup that works for women who’re really, really dark (like moi!) Great photos, too.

I love NARS. I love their philosophy, too. Sure, there are other brands that make better products in certain areas like brows and mascara, and powders. But lips, blush, bronzer and eyeshadows, highlighters… love NARS for those. OH, and my NARS tinted moisturizer and concealer!!!!
