Jetset Beauty | Winter Makeup Routine

As this winter promises to be bleak, I’m prepping my makeup routine to make sure I’m ready for Jack Frost. The cold climate inhibitors to a great complexion are many – and while I can’t escape artificial heating, dry skin and general paleness, I can do an amazing job at covering it up with Maybelline’s Dream Wonder Liquid Touch Foundation without having to layer it on thick like I do my cashmere.

What I love about this foundation is that it contains friction-free pigments, meaning, the pigments lie side-by-side resulting in a smooth, almost-silky, fusion with my skin. My face felt buttery soft after one application – which is exactly the kind of finish I’m looking for this winter; ethereal beauty.

Why foundation? I typically don’t wear foundation in the warmer months. However, once single-digit temperatures hit I bring out the big guns and my makeup routine goes from a swipe of lipgloss to a 20 minute routine to look like all I did was apply a swipe of lipgloss. Natural makeup (or the “no-makeup” look as seen on runways such as Marc Jacobs in NYC and Pink Tartan at WMCFW) actually takes some effort. A great foundation that gives the effect of your natural skin is the only way to achieve the “look mom, no-makeup” finish.

I use the Dream Wonder Liquid Touch Foundation by Maybelline in Natural Beige 75. I start by shaking the bottle, then using the exclusive dropper applicator I let a few drops fall onto my index finger and apply the Dream Wonder Foundation with my fingers. Some people like to use a foundation brush, but I prefer to use my fingers to get a meticulously blended finish.

Next in my winter beauty routine are thicker brows, curled lashes and a touch of blush. I keep my lips nude to match my skin and I’m ready to go. It almost looks as though I’m wearing no make-up at all. But now you know my secret: Maybelline Dream Wonder Liquid Touch Foundation. Can you keep it?
