Jetset WMCFW | Return of the Grommets

Sometimes all you need is a rebrand. (Ain’t that the truth). Sisters and fashion designers in cahoots, Chloé and Parris Gordon, showed their second collection today under the name Beaufille. It was a seamless transition from Spring ’14: neat drape, soft hypnotic patterns, and the pièce de résistance: grommets.

Oh, how I loved the suede pantsuit and jackets held together by grommets – this time letting less air in – and tracing every curve so perfectly along the seam. It’s a look I was on board for last season, and I was pleased to see it again for Fall.

Hip hop undercurrents were kinda victorious, as the front row bobbed their heads to a Tribe Called Quest and models wore snapbacks to match. The Beaufille woman is the inner city girl who went to art school. Her favourite colour: ox blood. How does she paint: in the nude. What does she eat: french fries. And so on, and so forth.
