WMCFW Day 1 Outfit

“You always like that weird shit” – my boyfriend, Alexander Liang, on my fashion style.

But it’s true. I always like that spider cunt* ingredient in every outfit I put together – for better or for worse – and whenever I’m faced with the the decision of doing the unexpected vs. the expected, I always pick the former over the latter. C’est moi, what can I say. And my boyfriend knows me best. That’s why he’s not surprised that I went for a combat boot and lengthy pencil skirt instead of moto jeans and thigh-high boots (which was the runner up in this outfit). One would have gotten me more likes, but I went for the one that got me more stank face. If you’re furrowing your brows when you look at me, I’ve done something right.

I want to please and challenge at the same time… kinda like Kendrick Lamar’s approach to music. Not that I’m claiming to be the king of New York or anything like that. Imagine a world where style bloggers would challenge each other in street style cyphers! All I can say is that in this neoprene Balenciaga jacket, I won’t be doing any waacking lest I want to dislocate my shoulder.

*I once read an article about Miuccia Prada’s approach to fashion wherein the writer coined this phrase to mean that je ne sais quoi in Prada’s aesthetic that makes it so puzzlingly beautiful. However, that website obviously did not have good SEO as when I try to Google it all I get is insect pornography sites and blog posts about Emma Stone.
