WMCFW | PANDORA and Lucian Matis

WMCFW | PANDORA and Lucian Matis

If you all don’t know already – I love PANDORA jewelry and feature them often on the blog. I’ve had the great pleasure of working with the brand and learning more about their Art of You campaign, which celebrates the personal stories of individuals and how we self-create through jewelry. Adornment and jewelry have always had important meanings throughout history and have helped tell the story of the individual’s relationship to society as well as expression of an inner truth. We might take a lighter approach these days but jewelry will always be an important cultural signifier – from good luck charms to the placement of a ring on a certain finger.

I was so happy to see PANDORA back at the WMCFW tents for their fourth season as the exclusive jewelry sponsor because I got to spend more time learning about the Art of You campaign and practising my luck at stacking rings from their Magnificent Kingdom collection, inspired by fairytales and fables. The rings were the main feature on Lucian Matis’ Spring 16 runway, as PANDORA not only sponsored the show but provided all the models with scintillating jewelry to match their breathtaking evening gowns.

I swear, there were a few runway looks that I could envision wearing on my wedding day – who said you have to wear white? That’s the beauty of individuality. We are so lucky to live in a world where status quo is just a suggestion, not a requisite, and more and more women can explore their characters and moods through jewelry. Not even a century ago, that would have been unheard of. Maybe I’m watching too much Downton Abbey, but I really feel so lucky to be living in a world where I can buy my own jewelry and wear it however I please.

That’s what I love about the pairing of PANDORA and Lucian Matis – it is the ultimate celebration of individuality. Lucian’s collection fuses the past and the future by pairing classical silhouettes with avant-garde textiles and prints, gorgeous lattice beadwork (that were still getting sewn on backstage minutes before the show) and the whimsical .925 sterling silver and 14k gold jewelry by PANDORA, which is also, like the beadwork, set by hand.

It was a memorable collection for Lucian and I feel so lucky to have experienced it, thanks to PANDORA! Check out the images from backstage as well as me getting interviewed by my dear friend Janette Ewen, speaking to the Art of You campaign and why it resonates so much with me. Hope you enjoy my coverage.

This post was sponsored by PANDORA jewelry and they provided me with pieces from the Magnificent Kingdom collection; however the views and opinions in the blog post are my own.
