Four Cities, One Card: LONDON

Four Cities, One Card: LONDON

Zara camel coat // One Teaspoon jeans // Zara sweater // Lacoste runners // Nella Bella handbag

I hope you all enjoyed last month’s post about what to wear in New York and how to take advantage of short-haul flight rewards with the new Scotiabank Gold American Express card. The next stop on the map is London, England. I’ve put together a stylish warm outfit – I know, an oxymoron – inspired by some of my favourite British bloggers and even packed a bag with all my travel essentials.

Lately, I’ve been watching so many British television series like Downton Abbey and Mr. Selfridge, and they totally have me dreaming about taking a trip to London soon. I can just picture myself shopping at Selfridges for a new Smythson travel diary and going for high tea at Hotel Savoy. I would probably try to book a room at the newly opened Shangri-La at The Shard, reliving the old days of British aristocracy mixed with something from Absolutely Fabulous. Champagne ensuing.

Whichever way I decide to do London, the Scotiabank Gold American Express card 24/7 Full Service Concierge and Travel Agency can help me create the getaway I’ve always dreamed about. From flights to hotels, to all-inclusive packages, the concierge is the easiest way to book a trip. All you have to do is call 1800-665-2582 or visit scotiarewards.com.

Once you’ve got hotel and flight, it’s time to work on the outfit. London in the winter can be quite chilly (their definition of central heating is much different than ours) so, you want to make sure you’ve got a thick, wooly sweater to layer over a thinner vest. (Vest means tanks top in British English – duh). I think in London it’s really all about overcoats and trenches rather than fur-hooded-downfilled-parkas, in which case, I’ve packed a staple camel coat. For accessories, I’d stick with a large structured tote bag and a luxe watch. You can even redeem your travel rewards for flexible options like a new Marc by Marc Jacobs timepiece or Burberry Brit fragrance – how apropos.

That’s another cool think about the Scotiabank Gold American Express – you don’t always have to redeem your points on travel. I just redeemed some of mine for a new food processor, and it was as easy as a click of a button. Just go online to www.scotiarewards.com and start adding items to your wish list.

Personally, I think I’ll be putting all those travel reward points I accumulate towards more home stuff after I book my next trip using my Scotiabank Gold American Express card. Where to next? Stay tuned for a trip to the City of Lights, and the secrets of doing Paris like a VIP. To find out more about the card go to Scotiabank.com/4xfaster

Thanks so much! It was an area of Toronto that looks like London, and so it inspired my look. Thanks for stopping by! XOXO J
