One of my favourite times of year is Toronto Fashion Week. Forging my blogging career in this city, my hometown, has meant spending a lot of time at World MasterCard Fashion Week – I think this is my eleventh season attending the shows! Wow. Just took that in for a second. Unbelievable!
My readers, you lovely people, have been there all along the way. This season, I’m kicking things up a notch with my favourite styling products from Redken. A mainstay at the tents, the Redken team is responsible for some of the most memorable runway looks from WMCFW. So, I teamed up with them to shoot two amazing fashion week-worthy hairstyles created especially for my readers, complete with super fun hair tutorial how-to videos featuring yours truly and a chance to win prize packs featuring all the styling products used to get the looks!
Today we are unveiling the first look: Smooth Volume.
I had a blast (literally) learning how to achieve this look. As you know, I usually wear my LOB smooth and straight. I wanted to find out how I can add more oomph to the standard blunt cut. Redken stylist, Cindy Duplantis, showed me how to blow-out my hair using Redken Pillow Proof Blow Dry Express Primer and Redken Stay High 18 Gel (that turns into a mousse when you massage it into your hands).
Cindy uses Redken Quick Tease 15, which is a product I use regularly to achieve that voluminous “pomp over” you’ve seen me wear many times (it’s sort of my secret weapon).
