When I’m asked to describe my style, I always say it’s a fiery mix between eclectic and elegant. To me, there is perennial beauty in simplicity, but you always want to have something interesting in your outfit so people don’t just gloss over you like yet another minimalist. Yawn. That’s why I love the new collection of watches, La Vedette, by Dutch watch brand, CLUSE.
Every once in awhile, I do love layering my jewerly and doing something extra. But, on the daily, I typically either wear no jewelry at all or very few, classic pieces. I love one really elegant piece of jewelry to tie together my outfits. Nothing makes me happier than a minimalist watch that has a vintage feel because it adds personality to my everyday looks.
La Vedette by CLUSE is inspired by two of my favourite fashion icons, Brigitte Bardot and Jane Birkin (like, who doesn’t love those two mega babes?). As someone who basically forged her identity through watching old movies, I really gravitate towards brands that imbue their aesthetic with a cinematic nostalgia. I feel like my La Vedette CLUSE watch could easily be something worn by Brigitte Bardot in movies like Godard’s Contempt or by Monica Vitti in L’Avventura. I literally have these women in my journal as my style icons. What, you don’t write stuff like that down? Well, you should. It helps majorly when deciding what to wear!
My favourite part about my La Vedette watch is the mesh band, but I also really enjoy the smaller size of the timepiece. Only 24mm wide, it reminds me of my mom’s vintage watches that I always grew up admiring. I love being able to have a bit of that essence with me whenever I wear my La Vedette watch. It’s elegant, it’s cinematic, it’s made for women who want to be the leading ladies of their lives. I’m always aspiring to something more; my CLUSE watch is that something more.

lmao the comment about minimalists. I would say my style is influenced by some minimalism but I don’t identify with being a minimalist so when you poke fun at them, I kind of get it haha. The watch is cute on you. I’m more into gold myself but I do find CLUSE to be pretty sleek. Love the pop of colour in your outfit. Mostly neutral outfit (which I enjoy) but a little pop of visual interest.

Yes, the CLUSE La Vedette is really great – I wore it on a recent trip to Spain, I love that the mesh band was super lightweight.
