My Style | Coal Harbour Part II

Last year around this time I was wandering about Coal Harbour spitting fire on your East Coast winter. This year nothing has changed, save for my outfit (thank god). And my hair. Here is the perfect opportunity to compare my style over an entire evolutionary year and make harsh judgements. Have I improved, plateaued or inevitably regressed. NB: If you love yourself this is not the kind of blog you should be frequenting.

I’ve started to keep a pocket zen notebook as I received a beautiful set of three Happy Jackson mini notebooks for Christmas this year. Mark and Graham also do adorable leather love notebooks to write stuff in. I like to start my day (I’ve done this for two days, today being the second and yesterday the first) by writing an intention, what I’m thankful for, a mantra and what I’m going to do for others and myself. It can be as simple as “today I’m not going to judge myself,” which, for me, is probably a large feat. Nonetheless, I find that when I write something down it is much easier for me to be mindful.

Today’s word: JOY

Joy like the feeling these Miista Ciara boots give me because they remind me of the amazing shoot I did with Sauvage in November. Pairing them with an all black ensemble is so “east coast” of me. You know what they say: you can take me out of the east coast but you can’t take the east coast outta me. Unless I’m off to yoga class, which I’ve been doing avidly since landing in Vancouver on Xmas morning with Santa, in which case I will accessorize like a L.A. Pilates instructor about to cold-press some goji berries.

So, whataya say. Have I improved in my style or not? I can’t seem to make heads or tails out of it and just feel relief that I cut that ghastly over-processed mane of mine. Why don’t you people tell me these things sooner? It’s like you want me to look bad or something.
