This Fall, NARS is taking us on a cinematic journey, inviting you to embody the powerful characters played by iconic 70s actress, Pam Grier. It’s a specific reference, but if you’ve ever watched Foxy Brown, you’ll jump at the chance to unleash your inner ride or die b**ch.
“The characters [Pam Grier] played in those movies were strong and assertive and her look was tough, but at the same time never hard. The campaign references those characters and that time period with the contouring on the cheeks and the more natural palette.” Francois Nars.
As for offerings, the Fall 2016 Colour Collection has a combination of seasonal shades, signature colours and lots of texture for the eyes, cheeks and lips. Think deep colours with an muted undertone. Think vintage photographs. Think Pomelo filter Pola 669.
We love the velvet matte lips in bordeaux and garnet (limited edition!!). Honestly, Fall is the only time I let myself abandon my otherwise concealer-nude lips, and go for deep red. I cannot wait to use these and I’m pretty sure Beauty Girl Lucy is jazzed about the new Velvet Eyeliners – they glide on so smooth! But we both love the contour blush palettes. In Melina and Talia shades, the former is café au lait, the latter light caramel, creating that beautiful contoured look, but also with highlights, so we can scintillate like a sweaty Pam Grier about to take revenge whilst still looking like a major babe.
