I have to admit that my style isn’t original – it’s a bricolage of references, inspirations and plain old copycatting. My admiration for the tunic came full circle when I saw Columbine Smille wearing a tunic in Positano, and other places. Especially a beautifully long number from Rodebjer, and I was like: “Why didn’t I think of that?”
So, before embarking on my vacation to Siesta Key, I stopped in at Forever 21 to see what kind of summer fares were in store. Beachwear is always better in abundance; and Forever 21 is both affordable and trendy – making it a mere trifle to bring ten different tunics on a trip.
No matter how glorious you look in a bikini, it’s absolutely necessary to cover it the minute you leave the sand. A tunic makes that easy and stylish (leather sandals are also a requisite). I had my sandals made in Amalfi over six years ago – in this regard, I’d like to think that Miss Smille copied me, having hers made in Positano only last year. But who’s keeping track!
