If you remember a few weeks ago upon my return from New York Fashion Week, I posted about an elusive “pink lady” who I saw there but had no idea who she was. Since, I’ve not only found her blog, My Empirical Life, but I’ve added her to my list of Australian style blog inspirations (the ever-growing), and had a little exchange with her over instagram (i heart social media!). Now it’s time that Tanja Gacic was featured on my blog as an official Eurotrash girl, don’t you think?
She blogs for herself and for Vogue Australia – impressive. Perhaps her best work to-date is her collaboration with Louis Vuitton and the legendary Alma handbag. The photographs are ad campaign worthy, and I’m not just saying that because I have a soft spot for the Alma and Tanja. I’ve posted some of those images here, they are truly spectacular.
What I love most about Tanja, who is a rising street style star as photographers rushed around her after the Karen Walker show in New York – I was walking beside her and experienced what I like to call a fashion eclipse. I look like a bystander next to her, really. Anyway, I love that her outfit posts aren’t just run-of-the-mill. Much like Gary Pepper Girl, Tanja’s photographs are glossy, staged and totally artistic. On the downside, it also makes it harder to imitate her looks because they are so polished and I feel I would need a hair and makeup team and Mario Testino on hand to even begin to emulate her. Nonetheless, she’s quite a gem so be sure to follow her at @myempiricallife.
