Over the past month, I’ve been spending lots of time getting to know the Clarks Trigenic line of shoes, in a way I have never experienced fashion before. In the true spirit of Clarks, marrying craft and technology, I’ve been hanging out with a Glassblower and a Light Designer, to watch them bring the Clarks Trigenic shoe to life, literally. If there’s something that really gets me excited, it is when I can indulge my artistic sensibility and intellect, and apply it to style.
The Clarks Mashup is something truly close to my heart because I’ve been brought on to lend my aesthetic, my style sense and storytelling ability to the overall project. It is such a treat to be part of an amazing team of artists and to watch their creative process – I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t inspired to step up my own creativity!
I’m working with Alyssa Getz, Glassblower, and Stephen Kaye, Light Designer, to bring you guys a real-life creation inspired by the technology and artistry behind the Clarks Trigenic line. Watching and filming them, while they work on this unbelievable idea, I am learning so much about what it takes to design a product that has both form and function, comfort and grip, while always being an item that is a covet-worthy fashion piece. I, for one, love that my Clarks Trigenics are blush pink (a colour that has been speaking to me like a mid-summer sunset) and they are designed like a moccasin.
You’ll be seeing me wear the Clarks Trigenic Flex more and more as the weeks go by, leading up to the reveal of what Alyssa and Stephen have created. We’ll be unveiling their creation at the Clarks Mashup on September 28th at a secret location. You can follow along the journey and learn more about this amazing collaboration with the hashtag #ClarksMashup on social media. Be sure to check me out on Instagram for all the behind-the-scenes images and outfit ideas on how to style your Clarks Trigenics.
