I’ve been a huge fan of Dove deodorant ever since it came out on the market. I love the branding, the packaging and most of all, the product works. My go-to is Dove Advanced Care in the elegant scent, Beauty Finish – so, you can imagine my excitement when I heard that Dove launched a dry spray version recently.
The Dove Dry Spray anti-perspirant isn’t like the aerosol deodorants we’re used to. Firstly, the Dove Dry Spray goes on like it says: dry. No shockingly cold, liquid nitrogen-like blast when you spray it onto your sensitive underarms. It’s soft like a warm breeze and in an instant, it’s dry. It also smells heavenly when you spray it on and I kind of liked that the smell lingered a bit in the bathroom after I applied it.
Another cool aspect that perhaps differs from our experience of stick deodorants is the residue. I usually use an old pantyhose to rub off any white powder that makes its way onto my clothes after putting on deodorant. I mean, it works (old wives tale come true), but it is annoying. The Dove Dry Spray version, however, left no residue at all. My underarm was clean as a baby’s bottom (or a baby’s underarm, no less). It was soft and smooth, thanks to Dove’s 1/4 moisturizer technology.
How to use it? Shake the canister well before each use. Brace your underarm, holding the can about 15 cm away and spray for about 2 seconds. Shake, spray, dry – as they say. It really is that simple.
12 hours later, I asked my boyfriend to venture a sniff. It was as fresh as when I had first applied the dry spray – lucky for him!
