Getting Back into shape (again) with GoodLife Fitness

With fashion weeks, dog duty, two-day jaunts to Montreal, martinis, Netflix and chill and energy shortages due to lack of kale in my diet, I have not been a very good girl to my body lately. In fact, it’s been 6 weeks and counting since my last workout and the more I think about that growing distance between me and a coconut derrière, the worse I feel. Thankfully, I’ve been given the opportunity to join the GoodLife gym down the street from my apartment this fall, which couldn’t have come at a better time, and hence I have #noexcuses to not #MakeitHappen.

Here’s what I love about GoodLife so far: the Yoga studio, TRX training, Les Mills BodyPump, sauna and steam rooms (a must in my vernacular), cardio machines that face a bank of windows; massage therapists onsite that have Tibetan soundtracks that follow them wherever they go; huge change rooms, cycling classes, 20 minute workouts (for people like me), and last but not least, delicious smoothies.

Here’s what I hate about my GoodLife gym so far: the three flights of stairs I have to take every time I go to the gym. There’s an elevator, too, but I think they just put that there to test your willpower. One day I hope to make it up without being out of breath before I even change into my workout gear.

Anyways, I’m tired of feeling lousy about my body and this new membership at GoodLife is exactly what I need right now. I love being fit, I love working out and sweating. I love that tight feeling in my muscles on rest day. But with my schedule, it’s hard to make time – and I know I’m not alone in feeling like this. GoodLife is perfect because I can workout at any of the locations near me and I have an arsenal of exercise options to choose from depending on my mood. I’m a sucker for variety and GoodLife gives me that flexibility.
