This year for their legendary Métiers d’Art collection, Chanel presented Paris in Rome – an epic show set in Cinecittà, Italy’s famous film studios. One of the most coveted pieces from the runway collection has proven to be the camera bag. Made of plexiglass, brass and satin white metal, with a leather shoulder strap, it’s about as luxe as you can get when it comes to Chanel’s pre-Fall 2016 accessories. The best part? I got to style it for a day!
In addition to the camera bag, Chanel is also unveiling a new line of ultra-soft leather handbags. The 2.55 bag is reinvented with this new leather, that will, over time, acquire a patina that makes it truly yours. These new bags come in colours such as black, beige, brown, navy and burgundy leather – some even have medallion embellishments. To the touch, they are as soft as peach skin, and define a new level of luxury.
What I’m really excited about are the drawstring bags launching in June 2016. The come in a variety of colours and it’s ultra-practical (I’ve been using a drawstring bag for everything this season, if you haven’t noticed) it fits so much stuff whilst looking so elegant. You can swing it over your shoulder or use the link chain to hold it by hand.
For now, let me know what you think about the way I styled the Chanel Pre-Fall 2016 Camera Bag with a white, faux fur coat, glossy moto jeans, and a pair of gold strap sandals. I loved playing the starlet for these series of images. The Chanel Camera Bag will be available in June 2016.
