I have been a fan of Paige Denim for years! Really, if I told you when I bought my first pair I would be dating myself in the kind of way a fashion blogger ne faux pas. Let me just say that they were by my side (or on my ass) through breakups, exams, first dates, vacations, summers in Italy, winters in Canada – they were my go-to favourite pair of jeans. You can imagine how happy I was to meet Paige herself at the brand’s last preview in Toronto. She is so. damn. cool. Her designs and her rock ‘n’ roll, L.A. vibe go hand-in-hand. There’s something feminine and edgy about her – maybe that’s why I love her jeans so much.
Take this denim jacket and short ensemble – the classic cutoffs and jacket get updated with raffia mosaic tile detail. Even though I promised I wouldn’t succumb to my patriotic penchant for the Canadian tuxedo, they just looked too good together. I broke up the matchy-matchy with a bright mint tank that flares out a bit. It’s not right to have a fitted tank with short shorts – it’s just so sixteen and under. I love appearing as though I just threw on a pair of ballet flats, to me, that’s the only way ballet flats should ever be styled. Don’t plan them as part of the outfit, just throw them on at the door!
Jetset Outfit: Paige Denim Echo Park Short; Paige Denim Vermont Jacket; Asos tank; Dodo le Parisienne ballet flats.
