Hong Kiyoung is a newcomer to WMCFW. In fact, he flew in from Korea to be part of The Collections lineup this season. His collection is an exploration of the intermingling of two themes: the delivery man and the psychopath. (Note, when you compute the two, the answer is Susie Bubble). The clothes are for seemingly “normal” purveyors of our Amazon Prime order but what lies beneath is a dark, fierce secret personality. I think the inspiration is cheeky and fun. Why not call your UPS guy a clandestine psychopath next time you phone in for a tracking number? Jokes aside, this collection was cohesive and in my opinion, an unexpected triumph at WMCFW – like that mustard yellow (DHL?) leather jacket and washed-out denim over the shoulder petal blouse. You don’t have to be psycho to rock them, but it helps.
