Jetset WMCFW | Angora Batty Riders

For a split-second, Line Knitwear was exalted to the likes of a New York Fashion Week pedigree. A certain Thakoon FW 14 collection came to mind with his fuchsia skirts along with everyone else who did fuzzy knits this season: Costello Tagliapietra, Gucci, BCBG, Ralph Rucci, Derek Lam, Altuzarra, Marni, Ports 1961, Kaelen, Marc Jacobs, etc. But Line was certainly the first of this season to do angora batty riders. Girls dem sugar!

The strengths of the collection in my humble opinion were the colour palette and the tailoring. Hyper-pencil skirts (think Tippi Hedren in The Birds) were so long that a runway mirage of an imaginary train would not have been an index of dementia. The skirts came in ivory and mint angora, 3-D black croco, pink leather and midnight velvet. For every pastel, there was a complimentary colour in a rich hue like mint green and bordeaux; soft pink and tea berry; midnight velvet and somthing?

A Schiaparelli Shocking Pink, which has really become a mainstay here at Jetset J, shone bright like a moto jacket that could be the answer to this season’s blush pink. Come to think of it, lately, I’ve really been digging all 50 shades of pink with my rose gold hair and matching Canada Goose fur. Gonna go ahead and call it: Me, Myself and Line.
