My Style | Snow Day

Apropos last Winter’s polar vortex, I’m bracing myself in style this winter with my new Canada Goose Mystique Parka in olive green. The past few years I have been amassing a collection of wool overcoats that are both sophisticated and totally impractical for -40 degree dead zones, high winds, ice storms and the dreaded slush-up-to-your-knees. A walk-the-dog parka is something every girl needs to own in her closet (even if she doesn’t have the dog quite yet)… and yes this one is named after my favourite X-Men character, Mystique, which sorta gives me superpowers when I wear it. Who knows, I might just morph into Joan Smalls one morning. But since I’m not exactly 6-feet tall (yet) I love pairing this ankle-grazing coat with my Nike ‘Air Revolution Sky Hi’ sneakers that have a wedge heel, making them really flattering on my cankles. Seriously, girls with leg-with-sneaker issues consider the Sky Hi and all your normcore (and Victoria’s Secret model) dreams will come true.

Hello! Would you mind telling me what size jacket you have on? I am wanting to buy one as well yet I am not sure if the sleeves on the smaller sizes will be long enough for my arms. (I’m 5’8″ with long arms.) The one you have on right now looks really slimming and nice on you!
    Thank you!

Hey! The sleeves are quite long and I have long arms, too. I am wearing a XXS and it fits amazing. I love how slim it is!

Is the fur actually a dusty pink colour or is it just the lighting? I can’t find one like it.

The fur is a custom piece I had made! It’s cherry blossom fox :)

What is the name of the fur shop where you got the hood made? I’m looking for a hood just like it. Thanks!

You look wonderful in this! Would you mind sharing how tall you are? I’ve been searching for a long parka for ages and the previous two I had weren’t warm enough (both were from The North Face). The Mystique might be my holy grail but I’m only about 5’2 and am really worried that the it might be too long on me.

Thanks girl!!! The Mystique is beyond. I literally cannot ever say I’m cold when I wear it – it covers every inch and is one of their warmest coats (I think like up to -40 something?). I’m 5’3 so you’re good lol.
