Passport | Kauai Travel Diary

Aloha from beautiful Kauai! After debating whether or not to keep our travel plans in the wake of two hurricanes, Iselle and Julio, we decided to take the plunge and fly to Hawaii as scheduled. The gamble paid off as we’ve had nothing but blue skies and sunshine since landing. But holy is it ever humid! I have to wake up at the crack of dawn to go for my daily run. Didn’t you know? I’ve lost my mind and decided to train for the Nike Women’s half-marathon in October.

On my day of rest (appropriately Sundays) I give thanks for my six-pack by feasting at the Grand Hyatt‘s legendary breakfast buffet. But what’s even better than eggs benny and pancakes going down my esophagus simultaneously is the view from our breakfast table. Colourful Koi fish, luscious florals and palm trees, and oh yeah, the Pacific Ocean. I am in tropical paradise and loving it! I highly recommend staying at the Grand Hyatt if you’re ever in Poipu, Kauai. It’s Cameron Diaz’s favourite spot, too!
