I ate my way through the Toronto Food and Wine Festival this weekend, did you?

Despite the torrential downpour and fight-to-the-death for parking spots, the jam-packed Toronto Food and Wine Festival was where you wanted to be this weekend. Let me tell you! How many chicken and waffles can one woman eat? Let me tell you! As many as my food credits could allot for. I mean, any festival that oscillates wine booths and food every two feet is a pal of mine.

I had chicken and waffles, charcuterie cones, oysters, shawarma sliders, cheese, a dirty gin martini, fried pizza, ceviche, and a mini Magnum bar to wash it all down. (Oh, and about 3 glasses of Pinot Noir). There were chefs at every turn preparing delicious eats and all you had to do was tap your wristband to procure the said delicious eats. I would add a proverbial flicka da wrist for extra charm, but that’s just me.

I even got to try Rasa by the Food Dudes, which incidentally, is giving away a dinner for 2 courtesy of Magnum. They were serving the shawarma sliders, which I have a super embarrassing anecdote about: I ate the display sample. I dunno, I thought you just took the closest plate in reach. I was so mortified when one of the food dudes found me hunched over the half-eaten (albeit cold) slider to tell me what I had done. Luckily, he brought me a fresh one, nice and hot, and I didn’t have to tap for it, either. Both, may I add, were delicious.
