My Style | Stripes on Stripes

Ever since Viviana Volpicella did a horizontal stripe-on-stripe look with a fuchsia and black striped skirt that I could’ve ripped right off her legs in an extreme moment of coveting, I’ve waited patiently for the day when I finally felt like enough time had passed for me to blatantly appropriate the look as my own. That day is today. Even though we were shooting in Toronto’s Esplanade area (AKA our new favourite hangout) to me, this outfit screams Upper East Side. Or at least, Woody Allen’s versions of the NYC borough. In my hand lies the key to having an incredible 4 o’clock: Balzac’s Chai Latte. It’s much sweeter than Starbucks’ version and if you order it to “drink-in” they’ll put it in a tall glass just like in Europe, serving it tepid or as they say in Italy, tiepido. This look is anything but.
