This outfit is all about recycling the old and welcoming the new. I’ve got vintage finds up the wazoo from my days as a grad student and when I subsequently discovered Sophia Amoruso’s Nasty Gal. Well, she was really rifting on Betty Davis and I somehow graduated, completing my thesis whilst suntanning on a yacht in the Mediterranean. All this in the spirit of an outfit composed of a bricolage of disparate references: something borrowed, something gifted, something bought and a few things stolen from my boyfriends’s closet (there’s something wrong with that, right?). The result: I think this was my favourite NYFW outfit.
