To celebrate their two year anniversary of the coolest clothes on Queen St. W, Sauvage and I got together one night in Dundas Square to party like it’s 1999. I styled and modelled for their Holiday 2014 Lookbook, which will soon be posted on their website: shopsauvage.com. Jaya, the shop’s owner, has sourced an array of merchandise from New York to Australia. Every time I walk in there, I never leave empty-handed. She manages to take what’s trending and offer a garment with a new spin, resulting in salivating moments of me running around the store being like: “OMG, this is so cooool!” It’s great to see fresh interpretation of trends instead of slavish copycat fashion, pace Zara.
All the dresses I’ve personally purchased in the past year or so have been from Sauvage and namely the label, Keepsake (or as they like to be called, Keepsake the label). Sauvage is my go-to for dresses in the city. This season, however, they’ve stepped up their outerwear game with Danish fashion brand, Ganni. The burgundy leopard print coat I’m sporting in the lookbook is one of many Ganni creations now available at Sauvage. I don’t know if any of you are looking for a blush masculine wrap coat that could double as a bathrobe but I certainly am – and that’s available at Sauvage, too. Really, I cannot stress how much of a hidden gem this boutique is; one visit and you’ll be all up on my Insta feed like: #thankyoulater.
