Shop for Sunnies, The Cool Kids Way

Shop for Sunnies, The Cool Kids Way

From top to bottom: Cutler and Gross // Miu Miu // The Row // all available at vusunglass.com

Who, I ask you, are the proverbial cool kids? Nowadays I would say anyone with a penchant, either organic or artificial, for a minimalist aesthetic and a Hypebeast HB1 filter overage. You know, those black and white Instagram grids that appear in the vicious circle of suggested users? Follow one, and you follow them all. At any rate, these so-called cool kids need somewhere to shop for sunglasses. Enter, VuSunglass.com.

Their aesthetic is on point with everything good that’s happening in the fashion world right now – and their business model might solve buyer’s regret for good. Here’s how it works: You pick out three pairs of sunglasses (good luck with that, their selection seems to go on forever). They send you the said three pairs. You play with the said three pairs for 30 days. You keep the one you like best (or two) and send the others back.

It’s ingenious because I’m about 10 days in and already the pair I thought I was going to keep has now begun to lose its initial lustre. That I could madly fall in love on impulse with a pair of seemingly made-for-me glasses when after a mere few days that love began to grow for another, not only forces me to question my moral compass when it comes to shopping but makes a case for The Bachelorette. Love is fickle. Impulse buys must be eliminated.

When unwrapping my Vu Sunglass package I thought Miu Miu all the way. Now I’m thinking The Row. Give me a few more days and I might end up choosing the Cutler and Gross. Who knows! It’s anyone’s game right now.

Is 30 days enough time to find true love?

Stay tuned to see who gets the final rose – and by all means, if you have any suggestions as to which pair I should keep, leave a comment!
