My favourite thing to do when the seasons change and subsequently, my wardrobe eschews linen for dark colours, wool and suede is to peruse my favourite stores for ideas (and look longingly at the things I can’t afford). My usual recipe for a good Fall wardrobe is to commit to one splurge item (usually a bag or a pair of knee high boots, sometimes a coat) peppered with more affordable pieces, fast fashion, vintage finds and of course, update my perfume and lipstick with the latest collections.

After my usual ring around The Room at Hudson’s Bay, I can spoil myself silly in the beauty department. The essence of an autumnal aesthetic can just as easily be found in a new fragrance as in a new cashmere duster coat. The former much easier to reconcile with your accountant.

Anyways, by now if you’re a real woman you’ll know that when it comes to your fragrance wardrobe, you should have a winter scent and a summer scent. It’s just comme il faut. That’s why I love the Michael Kors Gold collection trio of fragrances available at Hudson’s Bay. From powdery winter white to rose florals, the collection offers a range of complimentary scents for the perfect style update. So, you can basically choose exactly the type of woman you want to be every single morning – isn’t that your dream?

It’s certainly mine.

I’m obsessed with the idea of a complete look that fits seamlessly in whatever environment the day will bring. From skiing in the Alps to a coffee run. I’ve said this many times before – I love imagining how a certain outfit will look in a specific location: a street corner, inside the booth at a restaurant, my kitchen. That, to me, is truly the definition of style. And when you add the sensorial aspect of fabric textures and olfactory cues, it is the total aesthetic experience that makes life worth living! Or at least, makes it worth splurging on a new fragrance this Fall.
