Good things come to those who wait. Fashion-lovers who call CF Toronto Eaton Centre home (aka Alex and me) can finally breathe a sigh of relief. Zara is back.
We were invited to tour (and shop, duh) the new store as soon as it opened. It stands like a beacon right in the middle of the mall. A few things to note about the new, new Zara store? It’s two-storeys of menswear, womenswear and even, kids and it looks absolutely nothing like it used to. A larger-than-life mirrored staircase anchors the two levels and the store is no longer stark white. I like to call the new palette: runway chiaroscuro. Ok, I’m totally making that colour up.
The womenswear section is divided into three parts: Collection, Basics and Trafaluc (my personal fave). The store feels more like the Zara’s of Europe and New York City, updated and haute. Alex shopped upstairs in the menswear section – that also features the exclusive Zara Studio collection for all you diehards – while I perused the first floor without having to run into him carrying way too many clothes than he needs to see.
I obviously made a few too many purchases and if you follow me on Snapchat you’ll know I’ve been living via online shopping during Zara’s reno. So you know I went a little crazy yesterday when I finally got to shop in-store again. I picked up a cute little faux fur pompom to attach to all my handbags, a faux fur coat (only $150!) and a new pair of ripped jeans. I’m sorry, Zara makes the best fast fashion jeans, hands-down. At $50 a pop, I can casually pick up a pair every time I drop into the CF Toronto Eaton Centre.
Oh, and I also bought a t-shirt that says “Whatever, I’m Getting French Fries” in a wicked 70s-inspired font. Stay tuned to see how I style all of my fabulous finds from the new Zara store. what a pretty Zara! I’ve only been to the one in Montreal when I was visiting but it was so chaotic I had to turn around :(
